16 Nicholson Street gallery occupies a historic three-story tenement building located in the iconic Laurieston area of Southside Glasgow.
Sitting on the Southbank of the River Clyde, this accessible space is a 5 minute walk from City Centre transport links, the Bridge Street Underground Station, and the vibrant Merchant City area, making it a great place to bring people together from across Glasgow, Edinburgh and wider Scotland. Since 2016, we have been supporting emerging artists in Glasgow and welcoming exciting, innovative, and socially-engaged programming in the space.
The unique, three-floor tenement layout opens ample opportunities to transform the space to your needs, and we invite you to create an experience for your next event, workshop, photoshoot, performance rehearsal, community group, creative class/club, meeting, small conference… or any of the many possibilities for using this space!
We are also excited to launch our new Exhibition Venue Hire Packages that offer our curatorial supervision, install assistance, and exhibition production support to make your exhibition concept into a successful reality.

Ground Floor Gallery
This street-facing space is fully accessible (*ramp upon request) and includes a kitchenette, wall heater, and appropriate seating/ equipment facilities upon request. It is ideal for short-term events, workshops, groups, meetings, discussions, classes, readings, artist talks, film screenings & more…
First Floor Gallery
This rate includes all the amenities and space of the Ground Floor Gallery, plus an additional spacious First Floor gallery hall with high South-facing tenement windows and enough room to stretch and play. This space is ideal for all events above along with larger attendance events, performance/ dance rehearsals, photoshoots/ film set, conference
*Conditions:
All space hire has to be requested at least two weeks prior to the start date, & exhibition packages 2 months in advance. All venue hire requests are subject to gallery availability.
*Access:
Please note, the ground floor gallery/project space is the only fully accessible floor at 16 Nicholson Street. The ground floor has a step at its entrance, A ramp is available for use with wheelchairs and other accessibility equipment, but notification of its requirement is requested in advance. There is a possibility of improving access by hiring a stair climber for events that will take place on the first floor.
