James St. Findlay
14th February - 10th March 2019
Opening Valentine's Day: 6-9pm
15/02/19 - 10/03/19
An exhibition of new work by James St Findlay drawing on themes of romantic despair, the endless platitudes associated with ‘true love’, the idea of infinity, and the mechanical relationship between stones in an archway. If you don’t come, my heart will be broken, I need you baby, I need you more than ever, please don’t go etc etc
The exhibition involves sixteen ceramic tablets, sculptural works, and the film ‘APEX PREDATOR’ (clip featured below), as well as a publication indexing the tablets.
PUBLICATION LAUNCH 05/02/19 - 6-9pm
“Tenderly but sharply, Findlay brings to the light the worst trash that’s been hoarded away in the dead end alleyways of heterosexual and gendered love roles.”
With thanks to Creative Scotland for exhibition funding.
Documentation by Malcolm Cochrane; exhibition text written by James St. Findlay, designed by Mook Attanath.
Publication Launch and Performance by Andrew Thom Neil: 5th of March
