Film Screening

Join us for the launch event of the 16 Nicholson Street publication Reparative Trespassing 6-9pm, March 24th at WASPS Studios, South Block in Glasgow.

Developed by Nell Cardozo, this event will discuss and situate alongside each other the publication and works in our current exhibition ‘Needs and Freedoms’ followed by a film screening of ‘Diviner’ (2017) by Frances Scott. A panel discussion between the 16 Nicholson Street curatorial team and artists Fiona McGurk and Moira Salt will reflect on the theme of reparative or speculative archiving.

Reparative Trespassing was developed in tandem with the artworks in our current exhibition ‘Needs and Freedoms’, which is open to visitors Thurs-Sun, 12:00-18:00 with extended showing dates until Sunday, April 03. Edited and introduced by Isabella Shields with contributions from Fiona McGurk, Moira Salt, and Aga Paulina Młyńczak, the publication collects elements of urban planning, community stories, personal narratives, poetic geology, hidden ciphers and data visualisations in order to build fragments of future archives and host past spectres.

Please register so we can arrange appropriate seating & refreshments for the event.

We are also offering a donation ticket with all proceeds directed towards the ‘Raft for Ukraine’ fundraiser by the “Czasoprzestrzeń” Cultural Center in Wrocław, who are providing direct support for Ukrainian refugees with housing, sanitary products, clothing, etc. and are in need of financial aid.

We can’t wait to see you! <3
