Jen DeNike’s practice of collage and performance are in constant dialog and inexplicably linked. Her collage installations evolve through a cross pollination of making and performing initiating a translation of enactments. Layered repetitions of gesture accumulate into marks and movements, it is here the choreography of assemblage is found. DeNike is a Scottish artist who lives and works in Glasgow and New York. Her work has been exhibited internationally including; The Museum of Modern Art, MoMA/PSI, Bronx Museum, Participant Inc, Brooklyn Museum, Performa Biennale, Bombay Beach Biennale, 54th Venice Biennale, Crystal Bridges Museum, Houston Museum of Contemporary Art, Wallis Annenberg Center For the Performing Arts, LAND Contemporary Public Art Projects, Zendai Museum of Modern Art Shanghai, Art Basel Miami Public Sector, The Bunker, KW Institute for Contemporary Art, Deichtorhallen, Julia Stoschek Foundation, Schauspiel Köln, Offenbachplatz, Tensta Kunsthalle, Site Gallery England, MACRO Museo D’Arte Contemporanea, DOCK 20 Kunstraum und Sammlung Hollenstein.
